\u201cInquiry\u201d<\/strong> refers to children’s exploratory activities, learning, and play.
Early childhood is the most effective time for learning through play. Feelings of \u201cThis is fun!\u201d and \u201cI want to try this!\u201d spark children’s interests and curiosity, nurturing their ability to learn independently.
At Beyondia, we value this \u201cplay = learning\u201d process and strive to create an environment where children can engage proactively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Activities (In-House Programs)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Beyondia’s diverse lessons led by specialized instructors are another major highlight, complementing our English-based activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We partner with \u201cBEYONDIA MUSICA\u201d for eurhythmics, \u201cNPO Rex Sports\u201d for physical education (PE\/active play), \u201cItoman Swimming School\u201d for swimming, and \u201cMrs. Sullivan Tutoring\u201d for cognitive development programs, ensuring highly specialized instruction. Furthermore, during the latter half of the senior year, we implement a robotics program by \u201cRobot Club.\u201d Please refer to the curriculum<\/a> for details on each activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Japanese Activity is led by Japanese childcare teachers. They carefully support children in becoming familiar with Japanese culture and in understanding the content they learn daily in English through Japanese as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We value not only events introducing overseas cultures like Halloween and Easter, but also uniquely Japanese traditions such as Setsubun and Tanabata. At Beyondia, field trips are positioned as \u201cexperiences connected to learning\u201d to deepen the inquiry-based learning of the International Baccalaureate (IB). By visiting places related to each unit’s inquiry theme, children connect classroom learning to the real world and gain a deeper understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, during the \u201cWho we are\u201d unit, we visited Kashiwanoha Park for experiences helping children recognize friendships and their own identities. For \u201cHow we express ourselves,\u201d we explored diverse forms of expression at Little Planet. For \u201cHow the world works,\u201d we visited the Tsukuba Expo Center, linking it to our inquiry into light.
Connecting the discoveries and excitement gained through real-world experiences to daily inquiry activities further expands the world of learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our school regularly hosts \u201cFashion Day,\u201d a uniquely international school concept. It’s a special day where children and teachers alike enjoy a casual atmosphere, dressing in outfits matching the theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Pajama Day<\/strong>, everyone came dressed in pajamas, and morning greetings started with \u201cGood night!\u201d They spent a relaxed and enjoyable time in a different atmosphere. On Cuddle Buddy Day<\/strong>, children brought their favorite stuffed animals. They shared snacks, took naps together, and experienced a special day spent with their plush friends. On Kidult Day<\/strong>, children and adults swapped fashion styles! Teachers wore the children’s uniform T-shirts, while children came dressed in slightly more grown-up clothes, enjoying each other’s styles.
The theme changes each time, so what will it be next\u2026 stay tuned!
Through these playful events unique to an international school, children enjoy free thinking while freely nurturing their creativity and individuality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, we hold our Sports Day at a nearby elementary school gymnasium. This special day allows children to showcase the growth and learning they’ve cultivated through daily activities using their bodies. The venue is always filled with warm cheers as children give their all in races, dances, and team activities.
We also prepare a wide variety of events for parents to participate in! For the children, it’s a valuable experience to challenge themselves while cooperating with their friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyondia’s graduation ceremony is held jointly for the Ikebukuro and Meguro campuses at Roppongi Ark Hills in a grand celebration. Together with children from other campuses, we look back on memories and celebrate this special day of departure.
The sight of children dressed in blue gowns is a testament to their strong growth. Seeing them proudly receive their graduation certificates brings tears to the eyes of parents and guardians.
Through this internationally diverse ceremony, children confidently take flight toward new stages, carrying the self-assurance cultivated at school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As our first initiative this year, we held a special \u201cFashion Show\u201d event in partnership with Best Kids Audition<\/a>.
Beyond professional photo booth experiences, children walked the red carpet as models, tried their hand at photography and behind-the-scenes roles, making it a valuable day of \u201ccareer exploration.\u201d
The children, dressed in their favorite outfits and walking with confidence, were truly radiant. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to discover a new world of self-expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2605Kimono Culture Experience ~ A Special Moment Connecting with Japanese Tradition ~<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We co-host the annual \u201cKimono Culture Experience\u201d with Happy Photo Studio<\/a>.
Children get to wear the traditional Japanese garment, the \u201ckimono,\u201d and experience a professional photo shoot. It becomes a special and memorable day for them.
In classes for children aged 3 and above, we also conduct inquiry activities around themes like \u201cWhat is a kimono?\u201d and \u201cWhen do people wear them?\u201d This helps them deepen their understanding of Japanese culture and customs while having fun. This event, which connects them with the spirit of Japan, provides children with a valuable opportunity for learning and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyondia International School Kashiwanoha is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Kashiwanoha Campus Station on the Tsukuba Express line.
The area is rich in greenery, featuring not only commercial facilities like LaLaport Kashiwanoha<\/a> and Kashiwanoha T-SITE<\/a>, but also numerous parks such as Kashiwanoha Park, Konbukuro Pond Park, and Aqua Terrace.
Nearby stations are home to schools like Gyosei International Nagareyama Primary School<\/a> and Kaichi Nozomi Primary & Secondary School<\/a>, an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Furthermore, Rugby School Japan is scheduled to open in summer 2023, making this a vibrant, international, and academically rich community. Additionally, for the 1-2 year old classes, we utilize the \u201cHugnote\u201d communication app separately from these reports, enabling more personal interactions with Japanese staff. This provides a reassuring system for carefully sharing daily observations and subtle changes in your child’s condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hands-Free Drop-Off System (Additional Fee)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We offer a flat-rate monthly system for unlimited use of diapers, wipes, aprons, and hand\/mouth wipes (Tebura Touen<\/a>). This simplifies daily preparations, allowing you to drop off your child with greater ease.
Aprons and hand\/mouth wipes are available for the 1-year-old class. Diapers and wipes are available until your child is potty trained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bedding Subscription (Additional Fee)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For those who wish, we offer a rental service for mattress pads and towel blankets<\/strong>.
This reduces the burden of weekly laundry and transport, making nursery preparations much easier.
