Today, we hosted our strawberry picking event. We had many families come with their kids to enjoy as many fresh, juicy strawberries as they could eat. Many families from Beyondia came today, but we were also joined by some new faces wanting to join in on the fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u4eca\u65e5\u306f\u3044\u3061\u3054\u72e9\u308a\u30a4\u30d9\u30f3\u30c8\u3092\u958b\u50ac\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\uff01\u305f\u304f\u3055\u3093\u306e\u3054\u5bb6\u65cf\u304c\u53c2\u52a0\u3057\u3066\u304f\u3060\u3055\u308a\u3001\u65b0\u9bae\u3067\u7518\u3044\u3044\u3061\u3054\u3092\u601d\u3046\u5b58\u5206\u697d\u3057\u3093\u3067\u3044\u305f\u3060\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u30b9\u30af\u30fc\u30eb\u304b\u3089\u306e\u3054\u5bb6\u65cf\u3082\u591a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u3067\u3059\u304c\u3001\u65b0\u3057\u304f\u53c2\u52a0\u3057\u3066\u304f\u308c\u305f\u65b9\u3005\u3082\u3044\u3066\u3001\u307f\u3093\u306a\u3067\u7d20\u6575\u306a\u6642\u9593\u3092\u904e\u3054\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the families arrived, they were ushered into the large, styrofoam dome in Loco Door. Once inside, we began the event. We started with a small introduction of all the teachers and the two facilitators from the greenhouses. We then sang our Hello Song before reading the story: The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Hungry Bear. The kids really enjoyed the story, even if some of the parts were a little scary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was then time for the craft. The kids were all given three different coloured strawberries, some crayons, and crepe paper. They were asked to add the seeds and leaves to the strawberries, put them into a plastic bag with the paper and the mouse from the story. The bag was then sealed with tape and hung from the kids shoulders. We had a lot of very, pretty sensory bags by the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then had to go over some important rules. The families were all asked to be kind to the bees who were buzzing around. They were reassured that the bees wouldn\u2019t sting them unless they felt threatened. They were also told how to properly pick strawberries that wouldn\u2019t damage the plant. From there, we headed to the greenhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The families could smell the strawberries from the door of the greenhouse. Everyone was reminded of the rules one more time before being set loose amongst the strawberries. Everyone had thirty minutes to eat as many strawberries as the could. We were amazed at how many of them the kids were able to eat. In the end, we took a big, group photo and headed to the main gate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a fun day for everyone involved and we are very thankful to everyone for coming and spending the day with us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
