Today, during our morning inquiry time, the K2 and K3 classes explored the interesting world of penguins in celebration of\u00a0World Penguin Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u4eca\u65e5\u306f\u671d\u306e\u30a4\u30f3\u30af\u30ef\u30ea\u30fc\u30bf\u30a4\u30e0\u306b\u3001K2\u3068K3\u306e\u5b50\u3069\u3082\u305f\u3061\u304c\u300c\u30ef\u30fc\u30eb\u30c9\u30fb\u30da\u30f3\u30ae\u30f3\u30fb\u30c7\u30fc<\/strong>\u300d\u3092\u304a\u795d\u3044\u3057\u306a\u304c\u3089\u3001\u30da\u30f3\u30ae\u30f3\u306e\u4e16\u754c\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u697d\u3057\u304f\u5b66\u3073\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I told the children that\u00a0April 25th<\/strong>\u00a0is a special day to learn about penguins, some of our K3 students asked,\u00a0“Why today?”<\/em>\u00a0This led to a nice discussion. We talked about how there are other special days like Children\u2019s Day and Mother\u2019s Day, and that today is a day to learn more about penguins and why they are important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u300c4\u670825\u65e5\u306f\u30da\u30f3\u30ae\u30f3\u306e\u65e5\u306a\u3093\u3060\u3088\u300d\u3068\u4f1d\u3048\u308b\u3068\u3001K3\u306e\u5b50\u3069\u3082\u305f\u3061\u304c\u300c\u3069\u3046\u3057\u3066\u4eca\u65e5\u304c\u30da\u30f3\u30ae\u30f3\u306e\u65e5\u306a\u306e\uff1f\u300d\u3068\u805e\u3044\u3066\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u305d\u3053\u304b\u3089\u3001\u3053\u3069\u3082\u306e\u65e5\u3084\u6bcd\u306e\u65e5\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u3001\u4eca\u65e5\u306f\u30da\u30f3\u30ae\u30f3\u306e\u3053\u3068\u3092\u5b66\u3093\u3060\u308a\u3001\u5927\u5207\u306b\u601d\u3063\u305f\u308a\u3059\u308b\u7279\u5225\u306a\u65e5\u306a\u3093\u3060\u3068\u304a\u8a71\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I then asked,\u00a0“Where can we find penguins?”<\/em>\u00a0Some children stood up and proudly pointed to\u00a0Antarctica<\/strong>\u00a0on the world map. It was a great moment that showed how well they remembered what they had learned before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u300c\u30da\u30f3\u30ae\u30f3\u306f\u3069\u3053\u306b\u3044\u308b\u304b\u306a\uff1f\u300d\u3068\u805e\u304f\u3068\u3001\u4f55\u4eba\u304b\u306e\u5b50\u304c\u7acb\u3061\u4e0a\u304c\u308a\u3001\u5730\u56f3\u306e\u5357\u6975<\/strong>\u3092\u6307\u3055\u3057\u3066\u304f\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u53bb\u5e74\u5b66\u3093\u3060\u3053\u3068\u3092\u3057\u3063\u304b\u308a\u899a\u3048\u3066\u3044\u3066\u3001\u3068\u3066\u3082\u7d20\u6575\u306a\u77ac\u9593\u3067\u3057\u305f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we watched a short video about penguins to help us learn more. After that, we moved on to three fun penguin-themed activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Color-by-number<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Children colored penguins by matching colors to numbers. \u306c\u308a\u3048\uff08\u8272\u3068\u6570\u5b57\uff09<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 \u6570\u5b57\u306b\u5408\u308f\u305b\u3066\u8272\u3092\u306c\u308b\u6d3b\u52d5\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Maze-solving<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 A fun puzzle where the penguins had to find their way through an icy path. \u3081\u3044\u308d<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 \u30da\u30f3\u30ae\u30f3\u304c\u6c37\u306e\u9053\u3092\u901a\u3063\u3066\u30b4\u30fc\u30eb\u306b\u305f\u3069\u308a\u3064\u304f\u30d1\u30ba\u30eb\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Penguin craft<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Children used shapes like circles, ovals, and triangles to make their own penguins. \u30af\u30e9\u30d5\u30c8<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 \u307e\u308b\u3084\u3060\u3048\u3093\u3001\u3055\u3093\u304b\u304f\u306a\u3069\u306e\u5f62\u3092\u4f7f\u3063\u3066\u3001\u81ea\u5206\u3060\u3051\u306e\u30da\u30f3\u30ae\u30f3\u3092\u4f5c\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    It was a fun and meaningful day filled with learning, creativity, and excitement. We all enjoyed discovering more about these amazing animals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
