Our K3 students from Beyondia International SIkebukuro, Meguro, and Kashiwanoha joined together for a two-day overnight camp in the beautiful natural setting of Yatsugatake. Through trekking, composting, and harvesting experiences, the children engaged deeply with nature while developing independence, resilience, and social bonds across campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyondia Ikebukuro\u3001Meguro\u3001Kashiwanoha\u306eK3\u30af\u30e9\u30b9\u306e\u5b50\u3069\u3082\u305f\u3061\u306f\u3001\u81ea\u7136\u8c4a\u304b\u306a\u516b\u30f6\u5cb3\u3067\u4e00\u6cca\u4e8c\u65e5\u306e\u30ad\u30e3\u30f3\u30d7\u3092\u884c\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u30c8\u30ec\u30c3\u30ad\u30f3\u30b0\u3001\u5806\u80a5\u3065\u304f\u308a\u3001\u53ce\u7a6b\u4f53\u9a13\u306a\u3069\u3092\u901a\u3057\u3066\u3001\u81ea\u7136\u3068\u306e\u3075\u308c\u3042\u3044\u3084\u81ea\u7acb\u5fc3\u3001\u305d\u3057\u3066\u30ad\u30e3\u30f3\u30d1\u30b9\u3092\u8d8a\u3048\u305f\u53cb\u60c5\u3092\u80b2\u3080\u8cb4\u91cd\u306a\u6642\u9593\u3068\u306a\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1 \u2013 Trekking and Composting<\/strong>\uff081\u65e5\u76ee\uff1a\u30c8\u30ec\u30c3\u30ad\u30f3\u30b0\u3068\u5806\u80a5\u3065\u304f\u308a\u4f53\u9a13\uff09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camp began with a gondola ride up the mountain. At the summit, students began a long trek while collecting fallen leaves to later use for composting. Despite the challenging distance, they persevered without complaint and reached the goal on their own. At the top, they shouted into the open air, enjoying the wide sky and echoing mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After lunch, students participated in a composting workshop. They tore up their recyclable lunch containers and mixed them with the leaves they had gathered. A completed sample of nutrient-rich soil from last year\u2019s compost was shown to them, complete with large beetle larvae inside. We brought four larvae back to the school for further learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u663c\u98df\u5f8c\u306f\u3001\u5806\u80a5\u3065\u304f\u308a\u306e\u4f53\u9a13\u3092\u884c\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u30e9\u30f3\u30c1\u3067\u4f7f\u3063\u305f\u5bb9\u5668\u3084\u30b9\u30d7\u30fc\u30f3\u306a\u3069\u306e\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u30af\u30eb\u7d20\u6750\u3092\u7d30\u304b\u304f\u7834\u304d\u3001\u96c6\u3081\u305f\u843d\u3061\u8449\u3068\u6df7\u305c\u5408\u308f\u305b\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u6628\u5e74\u306e\u5806\u80a5\u304c\u6804\u990a\u305f\u3063\u3077\u308a\u306e\u571f\u306b\u5909\u308f\u3063\u305f\u30b5\u30f3\u30d7\u30eb\u3082\u898b\u305b\u3066\u3082\u3089\u3044\u3001\u305d\u306e\u4e2d\u306b\u306f\u5927\u304d\u306a\u30ab\u30d6\u30c8\u30e0\u30b7\u306e\u5e7c\u866b\u3082\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u30024\u5339\u3092\u30b9\u30af\u30fc\u30eb\u306b\u6301\u3061\u5e30\u308a\u3001\u5927\u5207\u306b\u80b2\u3066\u3066\u3044\u304f\u4e88\u5b9a\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the evening, the children enjoyed physical activities such as dancing and playing with a parachute. As they moved their bodies together, natural friendships began to blossom, especially between campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 2 \u2013 Harvesting and Reflection<\/strong>\uff082\u65e5\u76ee\uff1a\u30a2\u30b9\u30d1\u30e9\u53ce\u7a6b\u4f53\u9a13\u3068\u3075\u308a\u304b\u3048\u308a\uff09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After an early morning start and a warm-up exercise, students visited the Kagome Farm for an asparagus harvesting experience. Even in the rain, they enthusiastically used bamboo sticks to measure and find the perfect size asparagus. Their excitement was evident as they carefully selected and harvested their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunch took place at the same ski resort area as the day before. Afterward, children visited the gift shop and thoughtfully chose treats to bring home and share with their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the two days, the children practiced taking care of themselves\u2014packing, eating, changing clothes, and tidying their rooms\u2014developing a sense of independence and responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3053\u306e\u4e8c\u65e5\u9593\u3092\u901a\u3057\u3066\u3001\u5b50\u3069\u3082\u305f\u3061\u306f\u98df\u4e8b\u3084\u7740\u66ff\u3048\u3001\u90e8\u5c4b\u306e\u7247\u4ed8\u3051\u307e\u3067\u300c\u81ea\u5206\u306e\u3053\u3068\u306f\u81ea\u5206\u3067\u3059\u308b\u300d\u3068\u3044\u3046\u59ff\u52e2\u3067\u53d6\u308a\u7d44\u307f\u3001\u81ea\u7acb\u5fc3\u3068\u8cac\u4efb\u611f\u3092\u80b2\u3066\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning and IB Connections<\/strong>\uff08\u5b66\u3073\u3068IB\u3068\u306e\u3064\u306a\u304c\u308a\uff09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This experience was closely aligned with IB PYP transdisciplinary themes, especially \u201cWho we are\u201d and \u201cSharing the planet.\u201d Students explored their own identities and relationships with others, and learned about sustainability through action. The IB Learner Profile attributes were clearly demonstrated: they were inquirers, caring friends, balanced individuals, and risk-takers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
