At our recent Open School event, families had a special opportunity to join us in the classroom and experience how we approach learning through hands-on, inquiry-based activities. As part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), our Kinder students are currently exploring the transdisciplinary theme\u00a0\u201cWho We Are.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0This week, the focus was on discovering and understanding the human body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5148\u65e5\u306e\u30aa\u30fc\u30d7\u30f3\u30b9\u30af\u30fc\u30eb\u3067\u306f\u3001\u3054\u5bb6\u65cf\u306e\u7686\u3055\u307e\u306b\u6559\u5ba4\u306b\u304a\u8d8a\u3057\u3044\u305f\u3060\u304d\u3001\u5b50\u3069\u3082\u305f\u3061\u304c\u3069\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u30cf\u30f3\u30ba\u30aa\u30f3\uff08\u4f53\u9a13\u578b\uff09\u3067\u63a2\u6c42\u7684\u306a\u5b66\u3073\u3092\u9032\u3081\u3066\u3044\u308b\u304b\u3092\u5b9f\u969b\u306b\u4f53\u9a13\u3057\u3066\u3044\u305f\u3060\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u73fe\u5728\u3001\u30a4\u30f3\u30bf\u30fc\u30ca\u30b7\u30e7\u30ca\u30eb\u30fb\u30d0\u30ab\u30ed\u30ec\uff08IB\uff09\u521d\u7b49\u6559\u80b2\u30d7\u30ed\u30b0\u30e9\u30e0\uff08PYP\uff09\u306b\u304a\u3044\u3066\u3001Kinder\u30af\u30e9\u30b9\u306e\u5b50\u3069\u3082\u305f\u3061\u306f\u300c\u308f\u305f\u3057\u305f\u3061\u306f\u8ab0\u306a\u306e\u304b\uff08Who We Are\uff09\u300d\u3068\u3044\u3046\u6559\u79d1\u6a2a\u65ad\u578b\u30c6\u30fc\u30de\u306b\u53d6\u308a\u7d44\u3093\u3067\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002\u4eca\u9031\u306e\u30d5\u30a9\u30fc\u30ab\u30b9\u306f\u3001\u300c\u304b\u3089\u3060\u306e\u3057\u304f\u307f\u3092\u77e5\u308b\u3053\u3068\u30fb\u7406\u89e3\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068\u300d\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To support this learning, we set up\u00a0three interactive learning stations<\/strong>\u00a0designed to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity in young children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3053\u306e\u5b66\u3073\u3092\u652f\u3048\u308b\u305f\u3081\u306b\u3001\u597d\u5947\u5fc3\u30fb\u8003\u3048\u308b\u529b\u30fb\u5275\u9020\u529b\u3092\u80b2\u3066\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u76ee\u7684\u3068\u3057\u305f3\u3064\u306e\u4f53\u9a13\u578b\u5b66\u7fd2\u30b9\u30c6\u30fc\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3<\/strong>\u3092\u8a2d\u7f6e\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Math Station \u2013 Sorting and Counting<\/strong>\/ \u6570\u5b66\u30b9\u30c6\u30fc\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3 \u2013 \u5206\u985e\u3068\u30ab\u30a6\u30f3\u30c8
Children sorted colorful pom-poms by color inside clear gloves, then counted and recorded the numbers. This engaging activity supported early math development and fine motor coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30ab\u30e9\u30d5\u30eb\u306a\u30dd\u30f3\u30dd\u30f3\u3092\u624b\u888b\u306e\u4e2d\u3067\u8272\u3054\u3068\u306b\u5206\u3051\u3066\u304b\u3089\u3001\u305d\u306e\u6570\u3092\u6570\u3048\u3066\u8a18\u9332\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u697d\u3057\u307f\u306a\u304c\u3089\u3001\u521d\u671f\u306e\u7b97\u6570\u529b\u3068\u7d30\u304b\u306a\u624b\u306e\u52d5\u304d\u3092\u80b2\u3066\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Drawing Station \u2013 Self-Portraits<\/strong>\/ \u304a\u7d75\u63cf\u304d\u30b9\u30c6\u30fc\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3 \u2013 \u81ea\u5206\u306e\u9854\u3092\u63cf\u3053\u3046
With the help of mirrors, students observed their faces closely and drew self-portraits. It was wonderful to see each child\u2019s personality and self-awareness reflected through their artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Creative Station \u2013 Build a Body<\/strong>\/\u30af\u30ea\u30a8\u30a4\u30c6\u30a3\u30d6\u30b9\u30c6\u30fc\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3 \u2013 \u4eba\u4f53\u30e2\u30c7\u30eb\u3092\u3064\u304f\u308d\u3046
Using yarn and cotton buds, children constructed simple models of the human body. This hands-on activity helped them explore how different body parts connect and function, making science both creative and meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6bdb\u7cf8\u3084\u7dbf\u68d2\u3092\u4f7f\u3063\u3066\u3001\u7c21\u5358\u306a\u4eba\u4f53\u30e2\u30c7\u30eb\u3092\u4f5c\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u4f53\u306e\u5404\u90e8\u4f4d\u304c\u3069\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u3064\u306a\u304c\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u304b\u3001\u3069\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u6a5f\u80fd\u3057\u3066\u3044\u308b\u304b\u3092\u5b66\u3076\u3001\u697d\u3057\u304f\u3066\u610f\u5473\u306e\u3042\u308b\u7406\u79d1\u7684\u306a\u4f53\u9a13\u3068\u306a\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These engaging stations encouraged children to think about the\u00a0form, function, and responsibility<\/strong>\u00a0of the human body\u2014key concepts in our unit\u00a0\u201cWho We Are.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Parents also had the chance to see how transdisciplinary, inquiry-based education supports not only academic growth but also emotional, physical, and social development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
