Introduction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Last month, we continued our country study on France with the support of one of our parents. This inquiry was led by a parent from France, which gave the children a real and meaningful learning experience. The children learned about France by asking questions, sharing their ideas, and taking part in hands-on activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finding France on the World Map\/ \u4e16\u754c\u5730\u56f3\u3067\u30d5\u30e9\u30f3\u30b9\u3092\u898b\u3064\u3051\u3088\u3046<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The children first located France on the world map and discussed how we could travel there from\u00a0Japan. Ideas such as traveling by airplane or boat were shared. To make the experience meaningful, each child received a pretend airplane ticket and joined an imaginary journey to France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploring Castles in France\/ \u30d5\u30e9\u30f3\u30b9\u306e\u304a\u57ce\u3092\u63a2\u7a76\u3059\u308b<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We compared castles in Japan with castles in France. Through this comparison, the children learned that\u00a0kings, queens, and knights<\/strong>\u00a0lived in French castles long ago. A pair \u201cseek and find\u201d activity encouraged careful observation, communication, and teamwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Churches, Cathedrals, and Stained Glass\/ \u6559\u4f1a\u30fb\u5927\u8056\u5802\u3068\u30b9\u30c6\u30f3\u30c9\u30b0\u30e9\u30b9<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The children then explored churches and cathedrals in France and noticed how they are different from temples and shrines in Japan. They also learned about\u00a0stained glass (vitraux)<\/strong>\u00a0and how it was used to tell stories to people who could not read in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To conclude, the children created their own stained-glass artwork. This activity supported creativity, fine motor skills, and self-expression while deepening their understanding of French culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this inquiry into France, the children enjoyed learning about a new country in a fun and meaningful way. By exploring maps, culture, and hands-on activities, they became more curious, confident, and open to learning about the world. This experience helped the children build a better understanding of different cultures and encouraged a love for learning beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
