Today, the children enjoyed exploring water using large kudzu leaves. They used droppers and cups to place water onto the leaves and watched closely as the droplets rolled and moved across the surface. Some children carefully observed the water, while others enjoyed repeating the action again and again to see what would happen.

今日は大きなくずの葉っぱを使って、水滴遊びを楽しみました。スポイトやカップを使って葉っぱの上に水を垂らし、水滴がころころと転がったり流れたりする様子を観察しました。じっくり見つめる子もいれば、何度も繰り返し試して変化を楽しむ子もいました。

The Pre class children also explored with colored water. They enjoyed watching the colors move across the leaves and showed excitement as they discovered different patterns and changes. Throughout the activity, the children were encouraged to explore freely, follow their curiosity, and learn through play.

Preクラスの子どもたちは色水も使って遊びました。葉っぱの上を流れる色水の動きを見たり、色の広がりを楽しんだりしながら、それぞれの発見を楽しんでいました。活動を通して、子どもたちは自分の興味に沿って自由に探索し、遊びながら学ぶ姿が見られました。

By providing opportunities to interact with natural materials, we support children’s curiosity, observation skills, and sense of wonder about the world around them. Even a simple leaf can become a meaningful learning experience when children are given time and space to explore.

自然物に触れる機会を通して、子どもたちの「やってみたい」「なんだろう？」という気持ちを育んでいます。一枚の葉っぱでも、子どもたちにとってはたくさんの発見や学びにつながる大切な教材です。子どもたちの小さな気づきや探究する姿を、これからも大切にしていきたいと思います。
