Choosing a preschool or kindergarten is one of the biggest decisions for families. Many parents want a school where children can feel happy, confident, and excited to learn every day.
At Beyondia International School Kashiwanoha, located near Kashiwanoha-campus Station, we believe children learn best through curiosity, play, communication, and meaningful experiences.
In February 2025, our school officially became an IB Candidate School for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)for children aged 3–5 years.
But what does this mean for children and families?
Preschool や Kindergarten を選ぶことは、ご家庭にとってとても大切な決断の一つです。多くの保護者の方が、子どもたちが毎日楽しく、自信を持って学べる環境を求めています。
Beyondia International School Kashiwanoha では、子どもたちは「好奇心」「遊び」「コミュニケーション」「実体験」を通して最もよく学ぶと考えています。
そして2025年2月、Beyondia International School Kashiwanoha は、3〜5歳児を対象とした IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) の IB Candidate School となりました。
では、IBとはどのような教育なのでしょうか？
また、IB Candidate School とはどのような意味があるのでしょうか？
What is the IB?/ IBとは？
The IB (International Baccalaureate) is an international education framework used in schools around the world.
The IB encourages children to:
- ask questions
- think creatively
- communicate confidently
- explore the world around them
- learn through hands-on experiences
Instead of only memorizing information, children actively participate in their learning through inquiry and exploration.
For example, children may:
- learn about spring flowers during outdoor play time
- discuss park rules together
- express ideas through art and play
- learn through conversations and collaboration
At Beyondia, we believe learning should be meaningful, enjoyable, and connected to children’s real experiences.
IB（International Baccalaureate）は、世界中で採用されている国際的な教育フレームワークです。
IBでは、子どもたちが：
- 自分で質問すること
- 創造的に考えること
- 自信を持ってコミュニケーションすること
- 身の回りの世界を探究すること
- 実体験を通して学ぶこと
を大切にしています。
単に知識を暗記するだけではなく、子どもたち自身が主体的に学びへ参加し、探究しながら学んでいきます。
例えば、
- 春の花について外遊びの時間に学ぶ
- 公園でのルールについてみんなで話し合う
- アートや遊びを通して自分の考えを表現する
- 会話や協力活動を通して学ぶ
など、日常の経験そのものが学びにつながっています。

What is an IB Candidate School?/ IB Candidate Schoolとは？
An IB Candidate School is a school that is preparing to become an officially authorized IB World School.
As part of this journey, our teachers are:
- participating in IB professional training
- developing inquiry-based learning experiences
- creating an internationally minded learning environment
- building curriculum based on IB standards
Even during the candidate phase, children already experience many important parts of the IB learning approach in their daily school life.
IB Candidate School とは、正式な IB World School 認定に向けて準備を進めている学校のことです。
この過程の中で、先生たちは：
- IB公式研修への参加
- Inquiry-based learning の実践
- International mindedness を育てる環境づくり
- IB基準に沿ったカリキュラム作成
を行っています。
Candidate School の段階でも、子どもたちはすでに IB の大切な学び方を日常生活の中で経験しています。
